MONROE MOCCASINS RECRUIT TOP AMERICAN-BORN TALENT AS LEAGUE IMMIGRATION PROCESSING CONTINUES
Monroe’s Hockey Market Continues to Attract High-Caliber Professional Players
MONROE, LOUISIANA - October 5, 2026 - The Monroe Moccasins are continuing preparations for the upcoming season while a temporary delay in the immigration process for some international players is being resolved for the entire FPHL.
The Moccasins look forward to having their Canadian and International players rejoin the roster as soon as possible. Rather than allowing the temporary delay to slow the momentum surrounding the team, the Moccasins have moved quickly to strengthen the roster by recruiting some of the top American-born hockey players available to join the team and compete right here in Monroe.
The caliber of players expressing interest in Monroe is a testament to the strength of the market and the reputation the Moccasins have built within the professional hockey community.
“The response we have received from players across the country has been incredible,” said Nic Perkin of the Monroe Moccasins. “The fact that players of this caliber want to come to Monroe, play in front of our fans and become part of this community says everything about what Monroe has become as a hockey market.”
Over the past year, Monroe has continued to demonstrate that professional hockey has a strong and passionate home in Northeast Louisiana. The Moccasins’ fanbase, community support and growing profile have made Monroe an increasingly attractive destination for players looking for an opportunity to compete, perform and become part of something bigger.
While the team remains optimistic that its international players will be cleared as the immigration process is resolved, the Moccasins are taking a proactive approach to ensure the organization remains focused on delivering a competitive and exciting product on the ice.
“We are building this team to compete,” said Nic Perkin. “Our fans deserve the very best, and we are committed to giving them that. The players who are coming to Monroe are excited about the opportunity, and they understand what it means to play in front of this fanbase.”
The temporary immigration delay has also created an opportunity for American-born players to earn roster spots and showcase their talents in front of a growing professional hockey audience.
For the Monroe Moccasins, the message is clear: players want to play in Monroe.
And that is a reflection of the fans who continue to support professional hockey in the city.
